Project and Subchat Settings
In chat settings, you define the scope of a subchat: description, members, media, and the connection to tasks and service items.
Open Chat Settings
In an open chat, tap the chat name in the header at the top. This opens the Chat Settings screen with all management functions for this subchat.
From top to bottom, you will find:
- Chat Metadata — chat name and description, editable via the pencil icon.
- Media & Files — all images and documents shared in the chat, collected via "Show All".
- Service Items — the recorded service items of the chat (requires a linked company).
- Tasks — the task lists for this chat.
- Members — who is in the chat, with a search field and the ability to add people.
Manage Members
In the Members section, you see the number of people in the chat. Use the add icon to invite more people; use the search field to quickly find someone in large teams. Anyone in a subchat can see its messages and files — so only add people who are actually involved in the topic.
Create Subchats Intentionally
A new subchat is created quickly. Still, the rule is: only create a subchat if the topic really runs longer or involves multiple people. Half-empty subchats make orientation harder, not easier.
Good names save time: A unique chat and project name makes later searching a matter of seconds.
Roles at a Glance
Skava distinguishes who can only contribute and who can administer:
| Role | Can typically |
|---|---|
| Member | Read, write, share files, complete own tasks. |
| Admin | Additionally: manage members, change the project and chat scope, create subchats. |
| Owner | At company level: master data, logo, and member roles of the company. |
Web App and Mobile App
Larger structural work — maintaining member lists, cleaning up subchats, adjusting descriptions — is much more comfortable on desktop.
Quick changes work well on the go: briefly add a team member or adjust a description — everything is accessible via the chat name in the header.
